Sephora Spring Sale : My Beauty Go-To's (and What's In My Cart) - Mika Perry

Sephora Spring Sale : My Beauty Go-To’s (and What’s In My Cart)

There’s seriously no better time than the Sephora sale to stock up on your favorites and try a few new items : the entire store is on sale! I tend to stick to the classics – products I have used consistently over the years and are part of their top selling makeup, hair, fragrance and body items (they are bestsellers for a reason!) The Sephora sale includes a lot of brands that typically don’t go on sale, so you don’t want to miss it. Today I’m sharing these must-have items that I personally love, along with what’s in my cart which are also classic products, but just haven’t tried yet.

Here are the sale details :

  • From 4/26 – 5/1, Rouge members get 20% off with code HEYROUGE
  • From 5/2-5/6, VIB members get 15% off with code HEYVIB
  • From 5/2-5/6, Insiders get 10% off everything with code HEYINSIDER (It’s easy to be an Insider, you just have to sign up!)

I don’t consider myself a beauty junkie at all. You won’t find my makeup vanity or my bathroom drawers packed with the latest and greatest in beauty products. Over the years, I have tried the classics plus the “trendier” items, and if I don’t like it I don’t keep it around. This has led to a really streamlined collection of products that I truly love and use all the time.

Note : the one thing you won’t find in this list is anything on the skincare side because I am an Emme Diane devotee. I walked into Sephora this past weekend to preview this sale, and I noticed there were just SOOO many skincare products and brands out there (especially in the clean beauty and K-beauty space) and it felt kind of overwhelming. I used to spend time buying and trying to figure out a skincare routine. I’m glad I don’t have to test out products anymore; Emme Diane WORKS (click here for a blog post all about it)

Ok so here are my classic, go-to beauty products from Sephora that I use and have stood the test of time, year after year, that I totally recommend – and you can get all of them on sale.

Tan-Luxe The Water Self-Tanning Spray

Click here for a whole blog post on why this is my absolute favorite spray tan ever! I use the medium/dark shade, and buy multiple bottles whenever they go on sale (I bought like 10 bottles over the holidays, so I think I’m good for now!)

Becca Highlighter in Moonstone or Opal

This is a great neutral highlighter, and I like both the Moonstone and Opal. This mini size is a great way to try it out before splurging on a full-size (that’s one way I love to try out new items!)

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade

I have my brows microbladed (you can read more about that here) but if I want to add a little more oomph to them I use this, using a stiff slanted brush I got like a decade ago. The pot lasts FOR.EVER. I have the medium brown. If you want to amp up your brows a bit, I highly recommend this!

T3 Micro Cura Blowdryer

For the longest time, I didn’t think that I needed an expensive hairdryer. I mean, a 10 year old Conair still dries my hair – so why fix what isn’t broken, right?? WRONG. This dryer literally cut my drying time down by probably almost half. So not only is this a beauty tip, it’s a time-saving hack.

Buxom Lipgloss in Pink Lady

You may have seen or heard me talk about my love for NYX Butter Gloss, but this Buxom gloss is one I have actually been using longer – I just don’t get around to replenishing it as much when it’s out because the NYX one is so much easier (and cheaper!) to buy (they have them at Target.) But the color and texture of this gloss is amazing, and it really plumps up the lips like crazy. It looks super pink in the bottle but once on, it is fresh and bright and pretty.

Kiehl’s Ultimate Strength Hand Salve

I think hand cream is one thing that can easily get overlooked in a beauty routine, but when you use it regularly, it makes a big difference. I wash my hands all the time and am inclined to dry skin, and recently started using this classic hand cream and really have loved it. The mini is perfect for travel or throwing in your purse.

Laura Mercier Translucent Powder

I always set my foundation or concealer with this and it’s just so good. Lasts forever. It’s a classic for a reason.

NARS Orgasm Blush

This is a classic for a reason, it’s the perfect pink-peach shade with a slight shimmer that creates a natural highlight.

Chanel Coco Mademoiselle

I have worn this for years now, typically getting a bottle once a year or so for Christmas or during a sale like this. It’s just a good, solid, feminine but not overpowering scent. I wear this one more during the day, just one spritz on my wrist.

Drybar Dry Shampoo

Cannot live without dry shampoo, and after trying several others, I always come back to this one. It smells great, and even though I am a dark brunette I don’t notice that white powdery look once I brush it out.

Urban Decay Afterglow Highlighter in Aura

I love a good pink highlighter – I feel like it adds a really pretty finish and makes you look more bright and awake. I often just use this as a light blush for daytime.

NARS Sheer Glow Foundation

This is my more night-time, event, or photos foundation. Its is a medium coverage and has a soft, nice finish. I shade I use is called “Barcelona”

It Cosmetics CC Cream

I wear this whenever I need to wear makeup during the day. It gives a dewy, supple finish, and I just pair it with a highlighter and call it a day! I use the medium tan shade.

Moroccan Oil – Full + Travel Size Set

I have used this for almost 10 years now, just one or two pumps on damp hair every time after I wash it and before styling it. My stylist always comments on how healthy my hair is, and I credit this oil. This set is one I got and love, because you get a regular sized one plus a smaller bottle for travel, and you can just refill as needed when packing. I’ve never had it spill in my bag, either.

Viktor and Rolf Flowerbomb Travel Size

I have worn this fragrance for years but not everyday; I tend to wear it more at nighttime. That’s why I love having this small-sized bottle and refill : you can stick this in your purse and touch up whenever. I think this one is a really great value – you get a good amount in the two bottles and they last a while.

Jo Malone Lime, Mandarin and Basil Candle

I have this candle and reed diffuser in our powder bath. It smells fresh and spa-like. Jo Malone has so many scents but if you’ve never tried any, I think this one is a good one to start with (orange blossom, IMO, is a little too floral and too much.) Jo Malone rarely goes on sale, so this is your chance.

In my cart . . .

Ok, so I do have a few new items I am giving a try that have been on my wishlist for a while :

Georgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation

I have been meaning to get this foundation forever, and finally am doing it! I got matched and my color is 5.75.

Kiehls Creme De Dorps

A lot of people swear by this lotion, and since I’m just out of my usual body lotion (Nivea Essentially Enriched) I’m going to give it a try. I tested it out at the store and liked the consistency and neutral scent; I prefer to have my perfume or my essential oils be my fragrance rather than body lotion.

Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Moonlight

I also tried this one in the store and just love the idea of a one-stop-shop kind of eye shadow. I used to wear a TON of eye shadow and eye makeup but after getting eyelash extensions for the last 3 years, I just do a quick swipe of shadow and maybe a touch of liner for night, and I’m set. This shade is super pretty and wearable and I can’t wait to try it.

Jo Malone Fragrance Combining Duo

I love these two scents in the candles, so this smaller travel size duo looks fun to try, and I love that they encourage mixing scents at Jo Malone. I think that’s a secret to perfumes – you’re generally going to gravitate towards certain notes, so they often will work well together. I think these would make great daytime scents for summer.
